Sugarloaf Peak

Last night we hiked to Sugarloaf  Peak which is the peak that is above Cecret Lake at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon

The hike on the way up was really pretty. The accent up the peak was pretty steep and out legs were burning!

There were some awesome clouds when were on the top. They were literally all around us!

Hailey and I are doing mini adventures to prepare for our big Africa Adventure!

Coming down off the mountain.

Cecret Lake

It was a great Wednesday evening in the wonderful wasatch mountains!

Timpanogos

I LOVE THIS MOUNTAIN

A few friends and I hiked Timpanogos this past weekend. We started on the trail around 12:30 AM, and then got to the summit around 5:15 AM. It was so cool hiking up in the dark! We could see little groups with their headlights making their way up the mountain.

There were probably 100 people that enjoyed the sunrise with us. It was a very cold wait but it was majestic. We were on the very top of a massive mountain, staring at countless other peaks with the sun slowly rising behind the clouds.

Here is the four of us at the little shack that is at the top.

The views from the top were amazing.

We got lost at this part for a little bit on the way up in the dark.

See that peak on the top? That is what we were sitting on for the sunrise

Wild flowers. Wild flowers. Wild flowers.

This was a waterfall that passed on the way back down

I loved this hike. I loved it a lot more than I thought that I would. It was a long 16 miles, and the way down seemed to go on forever, but I loved every minute of it.

Dog Lake

Yesterday my sister and I were finally able to do our dog lake trip! The water was too cold to get in this time, but we still had a fun time!

Dog lake is located in Milcreek Canyon and it is only 4 miles RT. A pretty after-work hike!

This is a beautiful trail. I highly recommend it.

We had the whole lake to ourselves for a little while, so we did a little go pro time lapse action to get some shots of the 3 of us together! We tried to do some jumping shots but Reese got a little excited about that and tried to attack me.

She likes to observe.

The wild flowers here were pretty good, but nothing compared to the Albion Basin I saw last week.

The views of the neighboring mountains were amazing. I think there was a lot of haze from wildfires or something.

Abbey was so excited to have time to cross a few logs on our way back down. She loved it.

It was a fun sister date, and we sang Disney and T-Swift on the way back down.

Timpanogos Cave and Alpine Waterslide

Yesterday I got to go on some sweet adventures :)
I got tickets for me and 4 friends to go on the Introduction to Caving tour at Timpanogos National Monument. It was awesome! I highly recommend it.

This is one of the views from the trail. You gain a lot of elevation pretty quickly, but it is not too bad because they give you plenty of time from the time you start hiking until your tour starts. We got to the top about 45 minutes earlier than they expected us to :)

This is our group before we went into the cave. We looked so legit with our gloves and hardhats.

In the cave, we had our amazing tour guide take a picture of us! Right before this we were able to sit in the pitch black and be silent for a few minutes. It was amazing to have heightened senses and really experience the inside of the cave.

The tour was not technically difficult. There were a few obstacles to climb and one place we had to crawl, but the average joe could totally do it no problem. Our guide taught us a lot about the sport of caving and how to do it safely.

When we got back out of the cave, there was a sweet mountain goat that greeted us at the bathrooms. I still want a pet goat and this one would be pretty sweet!

Back by our car there was a trailhead for a nature trail. We decided we wanted to hike more, so we saw some pretty trees and a river.

American Fork Canyon is one of my favorites. The rocks and cliffs are amazing!

Our final adventure was to a natural waterside that is in Alpine! It was the first time for all of us and it was so much fun! Luckily I brought my go pro along so we were able to get these winning shots of us going down. The water was pretty cold. I was hesitant on posting these lovely faces we made, but they make me laugh so here you go.

It was a great day!

Ferguson Canyon

Yesterday was rainy here in Salt Lake, the temperatures cooled down, which meant it was time for a hike! I decided to do Ferguson Canyon because I did not make it up to the top last time I tried. I brought my dog Reese because no one else could come with me.

The trail starts just south of Big Cottonwood Canyon on this wide trail.

Then it turned into this lush green trail. Something rare in Utah.

I loved loved loved this waterfall. It looked so much better in real life!

A mountain view near the top

This is near the top and I could see all the way down into Salt Lake. This hike gained a lot of elevation, and was pretty steep but every step was worth it! This trail had everything. It has a river, boulders, waterfalls, caves and nice views from the top!

My dog loves hiking and so do I. We are a good match.

Pack for Adventure

So I have a photo selling website, and it supposedly has a blogging feature, but from what I can see, I can only use the pictures that I have put up for sale. I want to blog with a lot more photos than what I want to sell.
This afternoon I reached 1500 followers on instagram! I never really thought that would happen.I thought I had decent pictures, but it turns out, some people really like them!

Pack for adventure originally started because I wanted to sell preparedness kits that could be taken on a hike. I made a bunch of kits, tried to sell them on etsy and failed epically. I gave up really fast, so maybe someday I will try that out again, but for now I have a lot of small and very useful preparedness items if anyone wants any of them :)

I started my instagram to help promote these kits, but it was much for fun to post my landscape photos, so it very quickly evolved into that as I slowly forgot about/neglected my etsy shop. I am happy with what it is now. I just wish that I had time to go on more adventures, so that I have more pictures to post!

I plan on sharing some details of my adventures here. #packforadventure
